Size and Weight

Pelican Argo 100X EXO is 10 ft (305 cm) long and 29 in (74 cm) wide. With a deck height of 14 in (35.6 cm) and weight of 41 lbs (18.6 kg), carrying, transporting, and storing this small boat is a cinch.

With a load capacity of 275 lbs (125 kg), this sit-inside kayak keeps you safely dry on the water while carrying plenty of gear and accessories required for a whole day of fun. To leverage your kayak’s abilities to the max, try not to exceed 80 percent of its weight limit.

Materials

Like many other Pelican models, the Argo 100X EXO is made of RAM-X material, which is a three-layer sheet of high-density polyethylene. The kayak is made using thermoforming technology. A sheet of RAM-X is heated up and stretched over a mold using vacuum. Two parts of the hull are then melted together, creating a strong bond.

Contrary to popular belief, your kayak will not leak or come apart at the seams. The seams are the strongest part of the hull!

Features

Pelican Argo 100X EXO comes with an ergonomic carrying handle on each end. This is a kayak that stands out in comfort, stability, and maneuverability.
The bow features a storage hatch closed with a quick-lock cover that keeps your things protected from the elements. It would be a good idea to put your stuff into dry bags.

Featuring one of the largest cockpits from Pelican line of kayaks, it measures (LxW): 50 in x 24.5 in (127 x 62.2 cm). Hence, bigger paddlers can get in and out of the boat safely in no time. Adjustable footrests with multiple lock-down positions add to a better body positioning.
Moreover, as part of the cockpit, Pelican integrated a molded table with two compartments for stowing small items and a central slot that serves as a bottle holder. Lacking a bungee means you need to add it yourself or otherwise, stowing anything there while paddling is quite risky.

ERGOFIT Seating System™ features adjustable backrest that provides decent support and thickly padded seat base with another molded bottle holder at hand. If you want to spend a whole day paddling, don’t forget to bring an extra pad for the seating. The padded knee pads will add additional support for your legs and prevent bruising while paddling.

Behind the cockpit, the large tankwell comes with a removable 17-liter hard-shell storage compartment. You can pack your water-sensitive gear inside, or if you need to bring more items or a cooler, the bungees will keep everything into position.

When it comes to safety features, Pelican Argo 100X EXOo also features foam blocks inside the cockpit sidewalls. They improve the buoyancy of the kayak.

Performance

Performance-wise, the Argo 100X EXO is a very stable kayak. Its primary stability gives confidence to both new and experienced paddlers who want to explore new waterways.

Pelican’s Argo 100X EXO offers a decent speed for a short kayak. As long as you paddle, the hull design enables excellent tracking that helps with acceleration. However, when you stop paddling, the boat also loses momentum and stops almost on the spot.

The good thing about this kayak is that it has a shallow drift. Such buoyancy helps with the steering and maneuverability. It also adds to better performance when coming across tights or fast currents.
