Size, weight, capacity

Sea Eagle TC16 is 16 ft. (4.88 m) long and 38 in. (97 cm) wide. These dimensions are about average for a recreational canoe, however thanks to the lightweight inflatable design, this is a boat capable of a lot more than most.

Weighing just 64 lbs. (29 kg), this is around a third lighter than most canoes on the market.

The TC16 has an enormous capacity of 915 lbs. (415 kg). You can load up the family or haul all your gear over long distances without any danger of sinking this canoe.

Features

The high pressure, drop stitch design of the TC16 gives the boat that rigid and responsive feel that most inflatables lack. This is a canoe which is almost impossible to sink or even tip. If you do manage to tip, you can simply right the boat and climb back in, unlike a traditional canoe.

Plastic bow and stern molds let this canoe cut through the water, so you can track effortlessly, even in windy conditions. A small skeg at the rear aids this and prevents drifts. The skeg is removable and should be taken off before any white water adventures.

The TC16 comes with two removable wood and webbing seats. You can remove one seat and place the other one in the center to paddle the canoe solo. Or you can purchase and install an additional seat in this central position to make it a three-person canoe.

Small front and rear spray skirts keep the canoe from filling with water as you crash down the river. Internal drains let you drain your boat if waves make it over the sides, or if you have to climb back in after a capsize.

Carrying handles at the front and rear, as well as the sides, make it easy to move this boat when inflated. Additional D-rings give you positions for extra inflatable seats or to secure your gear.

Performance

The TC16 is a really versatile canoe which can take you to more places than you can imagine. With the enormous load capacity and safe, stable design, this is a kayak equally at home for family days out, fishing trips or multi-sport adventures.

This is a canoe which handles like a rigid boat, but will come out of the bottom of rapids much drier than your traditional boat. It’s rated up to class IV water and is strong and stable enough to tackle even some of the roughest rapids without issue. If you do tip, self-rescuing is straightforward, so you can get back to paddling quicker.

Often, your planned trip might involve a long drive down the highway. With the TC16, you get to do all of this, without the hassle of having a canoe on the roof of your car. When you get home, just roll it out, dry it and put it in the cupboard, ready to go another day.
