Sea Eagle FS126

Size, weight, capacity

The FS126 is 12 ft. 6 in. (3.81 m) long and 40 in. (102 cm) wide. This gives the board cruising speed over the water and stability as you move around to fish. At 6 in. (15 cm) thick, you won’t have to worry about wet feet, even if you’re loaded up.

The board weighs 44 lbs. (20 kg). If you plan to add a motor, add 4.5 lbs. (2 kg) for the removable transom. Carrying this paddleboard might be a little difficult, so it might be a good idea to use a kayak cart to get to the water.

With a load capacity of 500 lbs. (227 kg), this is a board which Sea Eagle markets as having a two person capacity. However, for most people this would be a solo board with the room for as much fishing equipment as you can carry.

Features

The FS126 has a continuous rocker over the length of the board, as well as an upturned bow. This allows the board to cruise over wake and waves without diving into the water and losing speed. A swallow tail design increases maneuverability and stability.

On the underside of the board there are three removable skegs to improve tracking. The removable transom at the rear of the board lets you mount a trolling motor and cruise from spot to spot.

The camo pattern foam deck pad prevents slipping as you move around. This reinforcement also prevents punctures from hooks and gear.

At the bow, shock cord and D-rings are fitted to secure gear. There is also a pocket to stow your paddle as you fish. The 14 D-rings around the board give you plenty of space to store kit and attach various accessories. For those who prefer to sit rather than stand as they fish, you can attach the swivel seat base to the D-rings.

Performance

The FS126 is a versatile and incredibly stable fishing platform which can be paddled easily between your favorite fishing spots. This is a board which can be paddled standing, or you can sit and motor through the water.

The high pressure drop stitch design is quick to inflate and gives you speed and stability. The continuous rocker and swallow tail design make it stable and fast, even in some of the choppiest conditions.

There appear to be only two downsides to the FS126. This board is quite heavy for an inflatable, so it is difficult to move around on your own, whether inflated or deflated. Despite how strong the board is, there is the danger that because there’s just the one chamber, if you puncture this board out on the water, you could end up in trouble.
