Size, weight, capacity

The Sea Eagle 330 is 11 ft. 2 in. (3.4 m) long and 33.8 in. (86 cm) wide when inflated. This is the shortest of the Sea Eagle two person kayaks. It can be paddled either solo or tandem.

With a capacity of 500 lbs. (227 kg), this is a kayak which is suited to two smaller adults, or an adult and a child. It can be easy to overload an inflatable, especially if it’s not inflated to the correct pressure. The Sea Eagle 330 should be inflated to 1.1 PSI to ensure proper performance.

Inflatable kayaks are usually quite lightweight and the Sea Eagle 330 is no exception. At just 27 lbs (12 kg), this boat is light enough to carry to the water on your shoulder.

Features

The five I-beams which construct the floor are designed for a rigid ride and paddler height. Not only does this make the Sea Eagle 330 easier to paddle, but it keeps it responsive and safe.

Two skegs on the underside of the kayak give the hull extra speed and tracking which are often missing in inflatable kayaks. This stops you meandering accidentally, so you don’t waste your energy.

Inflatable spray skirts, lashed to the top deck, keep our water as you crash through waves and ocean surf. Any water which does make its way into your kayak can be drained out with the open and close drain valve.

Five deluxe, one-way valves make it easy to inflate the Sea Eagle 330. The whole kayak is designed to be sun and saltwater resistant, so you can keep on paddling.

Performance

Billed as a do-it-all type of boat, the Sea Eagle 330 has a lot to live up to. On the whole, though, it seems to tick all the boxes. This kayak is really stable and the large load capacity makes it a popular choice with couples or families.

The Sea Eagle 330 is strong, too. The PVC design makes it suitable for launching and landing on beaches, and bouncing down white water rivers. On rivers and in breaking surf, you’ll really appreciate the extra features, like the high ride and the spray skirts.

This high ride, though, is one of the few drawbacks to the kayak. For taller paddlers, it’s not such an issue, but for those with smaller frames it can be a challenge to reach comfortably over the sides to paddle.

Out on the open water, the Sea Eagle benefits from the two skegs fitted to the underside. However, these are the only real definitions that the kayak has. In windier conditions, or in swell, this boat can wash around and be difficult to paddle.

Overall, the Sea Eagle 330 is a great family kayak and suits those with limited storage space. On calm lakes, rivers and coast it performs really well, but if you’re regularly paddling in the wind, look for something with a little more keel.
