The Manta Ray 12 is 12’2” (371cm) long and 30” (76cm) wide, long enough to carry speed and track effectively and wide enough to be incredibly stable.

The ideal paddler weight range for this boat is 100 – 250lbs (45 – 113kg).

This much boat is unsurprisingly fairly heft, and at 64lbs (29kg) you’re unlikely to be loading this solo, although the tag along wheel at the rear allows you to move it solo to the water.

Features

As an all round sit-on-top kayak, the Manta Ray 12 is designed to cover distances while maintaining stability. The hull is designed to cut through the water efficiently, with a sharp bow and stern and clear v-shape keel running the length of the boat, this kayak not only accelerates and tracks effectively, but maintains speed as you glide through the water.

The seating system in the Manta Ray is incredibly comfortable, while the highly supportive and adjustable backrest means you can paddle long days without having to get out to stretch. Adjustable foot pegs can be altered on the go so you can change between a relaxed or an active position.

A large hatch at the bow is secured with a watertight cover and bungee, while an enormous recess in the rear of the boat is perfect for boxes or bags. These can be secured with the deck bungee. Two small hatches are placed in front and behind the seat for items you might lose track of in the large front hatch.

Carrying handles are fitted at the bow, stern and on the sides so you can move the Manta Ray around with relative ease.

Performance

The Manta Ray 12 is a fantastic all round sit-on-top kayak which can be paddled in all manner of environments and for all sorts of purposes. The enormous capacity and huge amounts of stability make it a great boat for people who want a kayak they can occasionally fish from or find themselves in some choppier conditions.

The fast draining hull design keeps this boat sitting high out of the water and allows you to stay stable and moving efficiently, even in ocean surf.

One of the most prominent features of the Manta Ray is the seating system. As usual with Liquidlogic, the seat is incredibly comfortable and padded, with an extremely supportive backrest which can be adjusted. This boat is a great option for a larger paddler or those with limited movement or pre-existing back issues.

This is a recreational sit-on-top kayak designed for lakes and gentle rivers, but it is capable of cruising long distances and tracking well in rough weather, a fantastic all round design.
