Stohlquist Spectrum

Stohlquist Spectrum is lacking the features which would make it a more advanced PFD, but just because it’s a basic recreational jacket, doesn’t stop it being a really comfortable and well designed piece of gear.

It’s a relatively basic, unisex PFD in Stohlquist’s product line, which has open sides for ventilation and movement. The thin back design makes the Spectrum equally at home whether you’re using it with a high backed seat, or a more traditional kayak and even with a spray skirt. In short, this is a really versatile jacket, perfect for a wide range of paddlers.

The back height is adjustable, designed to be worn lower, for full back coverage, for those with high backed seats. It can be pulled higher and out of the way of lower backed seats, so you can fit into a traditional kayak.

Beyond that, the Spectrum is just highly comfortable and adjustable, and comes with Stohlquist’s cross-chest cinch straps, which stop it from riding up when you’re in the water.
