Size and Weight

With a 10’ (304.8 cm) length, the Triton 100 is a recreational boat that strikes a nice compromise between tracking ability and portability. Its 30.5” (77.5 cm) width also provides a natural amount of stability and seating space for added comfort as you paddle.

Despite its length, the boat comes with a relatively modest weight of 48 lbs (21.8 kg). While there are certainly lighter options out there, the Triton 100 is still easy enough to lift and transport, thanks to its bow and stern handles.

While it does have a small rear tankwell with a bungee cord system for storing gear, paddlers should also consider the weight of their gear before loading this boat up for a camping trip.

For most paddlers, the weight capacity of the Triton 100 is more than sufficient to transport them, some snacks and beverages, and some spare layers for the day, but it’s likely not enough for a camping trip.

It features a flat hull with minimal rocker to help improve its primary stability in calm conditions. Additionally, the Triton 100 comes with an integrated skeg that helps to improve overall tracking ability over longer paddles.

To help you drive and maneuver the boat with relative ease, the Triton 100 comes with a set of footrests that are molded into the cockpit to accommodate paddlers of different heights. That way, you can paddle more efficiently and better control the kayak when performing maneuvers.

Due to the boat’s flat hull and rounded chine, it’s best for use in calm waters as it lacks the secondary stability necessary for harsh conditions.
