Description
Size and Weight
The Lancer 100 has a 10’ (304.8 cm) length, which is about average for a recreational kayak. Its 30” (76.2 cm) width is also standard for its size, providing a good amount of stability and comfort without detracting too much from its portability or tracking ability.
The Lancer 100’s 14” (35 cm) deck height is around what you’d expect for its length. However, it is important to note that this may feel a little tight for taller paddlers or for anyone with particularly large feet.
When it comes to weight, this kayak tips the scales at 48 lbs (21.7 kg). For a blow molded boat of this size, the Lancer 100 is a bit heavy, but its front and rear handles make carrying it fairly straightforward.

Capacity
With a claimed weight capacity of 275 lbs (124.7 kg), the Lancer 100 is appropriate for most smaller to mid-sized paddlers. It is usually recommended not to load the boat past 80% of its maximum capacity for best performance. Therefore, the Lancer 100 has an effective maximum capacity of 220 lbs (99.8 kg). Since one also needs to factor in the weight of any gear that they plan to bring on their kayak, this boat is most suitable for people who weigh around 200 lbs (90.7 kg) or less.
Features
Featuring a nice mix of performance and comfort-focused design points, the Lancer 100 is a nice kayak for anyone that wants to enjoy quality paddling experience on the water.
Lifetime gave this boat a cozy adjustable padded seat back and a padded seat for added comfort as you paddle. Since the seat back is fully adjustable, it can also be properly tensioned for maximum lumbar support. Around the cockpit opening of this kayak, there are also integrated thigh pads to give you additional comfort.
In the rear of the boat, the Lancer 100 has an oval-shaped dry hatch with a cover and a bungee security system for storing your gear on the water. Within the cockpit, there is a molded-in cup holder, which is useful for staying hydrated throughout your paddle.
Other key features include a forward deck bungee that can be used to strap down smaller pieces of gear. The boat also comes with a side paddle keeper system to ensure that you don’t drop your paddle in the water if you stop for a break.
Performance
With its 10’ (304.8cm) length, the Lancer 100 is fairly predisposed toward tracking through the water. To improve this tracking ability even more, Lifetime built this kayak with an ST Performance hull.
As a result, the Lancer 100 has a slight chine toward the bow and the stern, which helps it slice through the water and stay a course.
Although the boat doesn’t have quite enough of a chine to provide it with ample secondary stability, its rounded hull does make it very stable in flat conditions. This rounded hull, in conjunction with the adjustable foot braces, allows for increased maneuverability and control over the boat on the water.
Therefore, the Lancer 100 is a go-to boat for fun paddles in relatively calm conditions, though it’s also a nice kayak for new paddlers looking to improve their skills in sheltered areas.
