Jackson Tripper 12

Jackson Tripper 12 was designed as a recreational, pared-down version of the Kilroy fishing kayak. With a super-stable hull, lots of storage space, a high-low frame seat, this kayak is all about fun on the water, possibly with a kid or a dog.

Size and Weight

Jackson Tripper 12 is 12’3″ (373 cm) long with the beam of 30.5″ (77.5 cm). It weighs 63 lbs (28.6 kg). The kayak’s capacity is 375 lbs (170 kg), which is not too much, especially if you plan to paddle with a kid or a large dog.

Features

Jackson Tripper 12 is a streamlined kayak with a minimalistic set of features.
Starting with the bow, there’s a rigid carry handle and behind it, an open storage platform with a bungee cord over it. It is a good place for some rain gear or a small dry bag.

The cockpit is very spacious, giving you the kind of freedom normally only possible with sit-on-top kayaks. The large volume of the cockpit lets you take a lot of gear with you, including large items such as coolers. You won’t find a lot of sit-inside kayaks that can carry a 35-liter cooler.

In front of the seat, there’s a simple bungee-based bottle holder. Jackson Tripper 12 actually comes with a Jackson-branded Nalgene bottle.

The adjustable footrests and soft knee pads add to the overall comfort on the water.

Two paddle holders, one on each side of the seat, are simple but very handy to keep your paddle secure.

Jackson Tripper 12 features a waterproof rear bulkhead, which not only provides dry storage but also improves the kayak’s safety. The bulkhead is accessed via a large round hatch.

The Ergo seat is simpler than on the fishing models but still quite comfortable. It has high and low positions and improved lumbar support.

Construction and Materials

Jackson Tripper 12 is a rotomolded kayak made from high-density polyethylene. Rotomolded boats are known for extreme durability and ease of use. They require very little maintenance.

Warranty
