Description
Size and Weight
At 10’ 4” (314.96 cm) long and 31” (78.74 cm) wide, this kayak cuts through any water. Whether it be a river or a lake, this kayak is ready for your trips.
This kayak weighs in at only 55 lbs (24.94 kg). This makes it the lightest Moken in FeelFree’s Moken series!
Capacity
With just over 350 lbs (158.75 kg) of capacity, FeelFree Moken 10 Lite is able to carry plenty of gear. Just be cautious about how much you pack and remember that it isn’t suggested to load more than 80% of your kayak’s maximum capacity.
Features
While the Moken 10 Lite may be the lightest ship of the Moken fleet, it still has plenty of features to keep kayakers happy.
First and foremost are the well-known molded in handles that are a commonplace sight on FeelFree kayaks. These handles give you excellent grip points while loading the kayak and can be used as strap points while securing it.
Next is the storage. Even though the Moken 10 Lite is a smaller kayak, FeelFree added enough storage space for all of your gear. This kayak comes with a front oval hatch, a center console, a center hatch directly by your seat, side pockets for smaller storage, and a large tankwell on the stern for any crate bag you may bring. Enough storage to easily hit maximum weight capacity.
The adjustable Kingfisher seat that comes with the Moken 10 Lite is, unfortunately, not as comfortable as many other seats in larger kayaks. But it gets the job done and can be upgraded to a more comfortable seat if you so desire.
Unlike many other kayaks, the Moken 10 Lite does not come with adjustable foot pegs. Nevertheless, there are roots molded into the kayak’s cockpit that you can rest your feet against, which do help to keep your legs from cramping or growing tired.
The Moken 10 Lite also comes with fishing rod holders that help keep your rods out of harm’s way but well within reach when you need them.
This kayak also comes with Uni-Track rails for accessories and recessed fittings to avoid snags. These recessed fittings are crucial: with a kayak this lightweight, even a twig getting caught on a fitting could drag your kayak off course.
Wrapping up the features for this lightweight kayak is the patented Wheel in the Keel. This wheel helps with transporting your kayak to and from the water, keeping your hull safe from dangerous scratches.
Performance
For its size, the Moken 10 Lite is nimble, stable and fast. It cuts through water easily while maintaining the maneuverability needed for fishing. And even though it’s only 31” wide, you can stand in it. If you do stand up in this kayak, do so cautiously.
While this kayak is very nice in many regards, it lacks comfort. The seat is known to be not so comfortable, and without the ability to adjust foot pegs, your legs can become stiff on longer outings. It would be wise to consider how crucial comfort is for your fishing treks before buying this kayak.
