Perception Hi Life 11.0
The Perception HiLife 11 represents a concept that provides a base for diverse customization and usage. The HiLife is a recreational, sit-on-top kayak/stand-up paddle board hybrid that encourages paddlers to spend more time on the water.
Size and Weight
Perception HiLife 11 is 11′ (335 cm) long, 34″ wide (86 cm) and weighs 55 lbs (25 kg) making it highly portable and undemanding in terms of storage. Its low-heigh deck profile enables the vessel to double as a stand-up paddle boat.
With a maximum load capacity of 280 lbs (127 kg), it is most suitable for average to medium-sized paddlers that enjoy being solo on the water or hanging out with their child or pet. That said, if you are leaning onto the heavier side, or used to bringing heavy gear on your journeys, the HiLife 11 may not be the most appropriate kayak. Be careful not to load the kayak with more than 80 percent of the total loading limit. It significantly reduces the boat’s abilities and performance.
Perception makes their kayaks from a proprietary High-Density Polyethylene material using the company-specific, one-piece rotational molding technology. The process involves pouring beads of polyethylene into the mold, which gets heated up and slowly rotated so that the material fills up every nook and cranny. After the mold cools down, you get a one-piece, leak-proof construction that is extremely rugged and durable.
The Perception HiLife 11 features a bow comfy-grip carry handle and gear tracks at the center and stern that double as carrying handles.
The entire deck is flat and covered with soft traction pads that provide a comfortable and non-slip surface for your wet feet.
The bow deck section comes outfitted with bungees where you can stow some gear or extra clothes for your trip.
The cockpit area features a molded cup holder and continues with a full-length gear track dividing the platform in half. Here you can custom accessorize your deck with electronics, cameras, rod holders or other gear for your favorite activities. It is suitable for all accessory mounts that are T-bolt base compatible such as Ram, YakAttack or Scotty, among others.
The padded elevated seat integrates a cooler underneath, as well as an adjustable, fold-down backrest that allows easy access to the lower, stern section of the deck.
The unique rear deck features two handgrips help to get on board easily after a swim. The stern gear track doubles as a carrying handle and enables adding more custom gear. The Perception HiLife features a removable fin (skeg) that comes very useful with steering during choppy waters.
Perception HiLife 11 hull design provides superior performance and stability in flat lakes and ponds and calm coastal waters.
Due to the low deck height, the HiLife isn’t susceptible to moderate winds and offers stable ride regardless of whether you’re sitting or stand-up paddling.
The HighLife isn’t a fast kayak, nor it is exceptionally maneuverable. To clarify, it picks up a decent pace during paddling and is responsive enough to provide smooth handling.
The strengths of the Perception HiLife 11 kayak/SUP are superb stability and tracking.
Perception kayaks are warranted against material or manufacturing defects in the hull and deck for 5 years from the date of the original purchase of the kayak. Parts, accessories, and outfitting are warranted for one year.
