Size, weight, capacity

The Tetra 10 is 10 ft. 8 in. (3.3 m) long with a beam of 29.5 in. (74.9 cm). This sleek design gives the Tetra its cruising prowess, balancing tracking against maneuverability.

A capacity of 275 lbs. (124.7 kg) is enough for most smaller and medium framed paddlers to make the most of the Tetra without overloading the kayak. The ample storage available on the top of the Tetra 10 offers enough room for gear on a long day out.

The Tetra 10 weighs 47 lbs. (21.3 kg). Once on the water, the kayak has a lightweight feel and is easy to paddle. Meanwhile on the land, the Tetra is easy to move and store and won’t be too difficult to load onto the roof of your car.

Features

The top deck of the Tetra 10 is uncluttered, so the paddler has plenty of space to move around. This is a particular bonus for recreational anglers who want to occasionally take their rods with them.

The seating of the Tetra 10 is fitted with the Comfort Hybrid high backed seat system. The extra height and width of the backrest give the paddler enormous amounts of support to keep them out on the water for longer. This seat system is fully adjustable and contorts to the shape of whoever is in control.

Keeping you upright in this seat is the Support Track foot brace system. These fully adjustable, rubberised foot pegs are super grippy so your feet stay on them even when wet. They’re even comfortable barefoot!

On the bow, there is a watertight hatch. The cover is easy to open and close and opens into a large internal storage well. At the rear of the Tetra 10 is a large tank well, secured with bungee.

The Tetra 10 has a handful of other features which make it even more paddler friendly. There’s a paddle park on the right hand side, secured with bungee. Bow and stern grab handles, as well as side handles, make the Tetra easy to carry and load. A molded-in cup holder finishes the set, unless you choose to purchase the additional Mod Pod center hatch, which clicks into the middle of the top deck.

Performance

The Ocean Kayak Tetra 10 features a narrow, relatively lightweight hull design. The low profile keeps the majority of the hull in the water, so it tracks effectively and is extremely easy to maneuver in calm conditions. However, this low profile means that in rougher water, waves are likely to crash into the deck.

This is a kayak designed for smaller framed kayakers, who will benefit from its dimensions. Those pushing the top end of the capacity are likely to find this far less stable than some larger models with more capacity.

The features in the Tetra 10 give this kayak the feel of a top end recreational boat. They’re really paddler friendly and keep the top deck open and accessible.
