The Remix 47 is 7’3” (221 cm) long and 21” (53 cm) wide, the perfect blend of length and stability to keep this kayak speedy and upright.

Weighing in at just 28lbs (13 kg), your young paddler will have no problem moving this boat around on the water, even if they might need a hand on the land.

Paddler weight range for this boat is 45 – 110lbs (20 – 50 kg).

Features

The Remix 47 is essentially a scaled down version of the adult remixes. The longer hull shape and slightly wider profile is balanced with a decent rocker profile and soft edges to ensure that performance isn’t compromised in favour of stability. That said, this boat is really stable for youngsters and easy to roll when the time comes.

One of the major issues in smaller, youth kayaks has often been that to ensure they can keep paddling the boat as they grow, the outfitting has had to be quite basic and minimal. That’s not a problem with Liquidlogic’s Bad Ass outfitting. Again, this has been scaled down to fit youngsters, but remains extremely comfortable and adaptive, making sure they are connected to the kayak from the moment they get in until the day they progress to a larger boat.

Foot pegs are fitted in place of a foot rest, making it easy to adjust on the water and keeping the boat super light. This is especially useful if you have a few children using the boat as you can switch positions quickly.

Grab handles and a drain bung on the top deck are fitted to complete the white water set up and this boat is available in a selection of eye-catching colours.

Performance

The Remix 47 is a firm favourite among those looking to inspire a younger generation of paddlers and those young rippers too. The boat was designed after consultation with parents, coaches and, most importantly, the young paddlers themselves.

This kayak is an easy design for kids to paddle and despite it being pretty long for a youth kayak remains easy to turn and progress in. The stability makes it perfect for beginners to get out for the first time, while the progressive features allow the paddler to progress to rolling, boofing and running rapids with confidence and ease.

The deck height is low enough that smaller paddlers can still reach the water easily and maintain a powerful paddling position and the forgiving nature means that there’s no nasty surprises.
