Fully inflated, the Excursion Pro K1 measures 10 ft. (304 cm) long and 36 in. (91 cm) wide. Much of this width is comprised of the large side chambers which make this such a stable platform. The length of the Excursion Pro K1 gives you reasonable speed over the water as well as plenty of onboard storage.

With a weight of 37.3 lbs. (17 kg), you’re unlikely to be hauling the Excursion Pro K1 too far from the car. That said, it’s still much easier than many solo kayaks to load into the trunk of your car or the bed of your truck.

A capacity of 220 lbs. (100 kg) suits small to medium adults and those who are looking to take a small amount of equipment with them.

Features

Intex Excursion Pro K1 is made from tough, triple-layer PVC with a polyester core. This material is resistant to the effects of saltwater, rocks and rugged launches or landings. The tough material and seams also allow you to inflate the Excursion Pro K1 to higher pressures, giving the kayak a more rigid and stable feel.

Inside the Excursion Pro K1, there is a comfortable inflatable seat, fitted on a velcro strip and secured using adjustable strapping. A rigid, moveable footrest towards the bow of the kayak ensures you remain upright in your seat and don’t slump throughout the day. An extra inflatable pad can be fitted under the seat for smaller paddlers or anglers who want a higher casting position.

Two removable rod holders behind the seat make the Excursion Pro K1 a viable kayak fishing platform for those who don’t need a dedicated fishing kayak. A mounting base at the front comes with an attachment for a Go-Pro or phone holder. You could also use it to install a fish finder or an articulating rod holder.

In the package, Intex includes a hand pump, a collapsible paddle, and two skegs of different lengths. The shorter skeg is suited to shallower water, like rivers or for those sticking around the shore, while the longer skeg lets you stay on course on longer trips in deeper water.

Performance

The higher pressure of the Intex Excursion Pro K1 makes it easy to control and gives it a more supportive and stable feel. This couples well with the I-beam floor and large sides to give you a platform suitable for all sorts of adventures or fishing trips.

The triple-layer material may make hauling the Excursion Pro K1 to and from your car slightly more difficult, but it gives you great peace of mind when you’re inflating it on a stony beach. This strong design is also welcome on rivers, where bumping off rocks and trees is sometimes unavoidable.

Inflatable seats offer a reasonable level of support. The addition of a footrest goes a long way to improve comfort, but you’re still likely to want to hop out several times throughout the day to stretch your legs. The extra seat pad is great for smaller paddlers, who otherwise may struggle to reach over the high sides of the Excursion Pro K1.
