The FeelFree Move kayak is a lightweight and convenient option for getting out on the lakes and rivers near you. As lightweight as this hull is, you will also find that it has a tremendous amount of stability. If you don’t feel like flipping your kayak over when you go out, this is a model you should highly consider.
Description
Size and Weight
The FeelFree Move is a 9 foot (274 cm) long kayak that is almost 30 inches (76 cm) wide. This is not going to be your largest kayak, but it allows a single person plenty of maneuverability and stability. Some kayakers have found that they can stand on this kayak and paddle without it tipping.
The FeelFree Move weighs in at 40 pounds (18 kg), which is quite light when you consider how sturdy it is. The wheel in the keel helps make this forty pounds even more comfortable to maneuver and transport. Keep in mind that the 40-pound (18 kg) measurement does not include the weight of a heavy-duty seat you may add.
Capacity
The FeelFree Move can hold up to 195 pounds (88 kg), which makes it a good option for children, young adults, and females. With two flush-mount rod holders, the Move can be used for an occasional fishing trip, you would need to go really light on fishing gear.
Features
The FeelFree Move has some excellent features, especially considering the cost of this model.
Probably one of the most functional features is the wheel in the keel. The wheel, combined with the rugged plastic design makes this kayak very easy to maneuver without having to worry about damage.
You will also get a bottle holder and a quarter turn hatch with the Move. The hatch itself is not very large, and you have to remember this is a lighter capacity kayak, so you will not want to bring your bowling ball along for the ride.
The padded back seat is comfortable and reasonably easy to adjust. It makes a perfect option for a starter seat, and you can always add something a bit fancier at some point if you so choose.
The Move has molded-in handles that make it even easier to carry than you may have first thought. Again, if you get tired, you can put it down and use the wheel to help you move along. For a new kayaker, the FeelFree Move has all the right features to make this both affordable and functional.
Performance
You will not be signing up for a race with the Move as your kayak of choice. This is not the fastest kayak on the market, but it is undoubtedly stable and easy to work with. Since this is a sit on top and you are somewhat exposed, you can expect to get wet while paddling.
The Move is designed for calmer waters, but even if those more tranquil waters get a little choppy, the stability on this kayak keeps you from tipping.
