Astral BlueJacket

The Blue Jacket is inspired by sea kayaking but is equally at home on any type of water. Any PFD which started life in sea kayaking is going to prioritise paddling form and comfort, and the Blue Jacket is no exception.

Astral’s foam Techtonics keeps the lower half of the PFD tight to your body, while allowing the top half to move freely. This stops the Blue Jacket from riding up and gives you maximum mobility so you can paddle uninhibited all day long.

The sea kayak heritage means that the Blue Jacket has kept the hydration bladder pocket on the rear, so you don’t have to stop on long journeys to hydrate.

There’s nothing more irritating than straps flapping in the wind. Over time, the sound and the feeling will start to nag at you and go from a bit annoying to infuriating. The hook and loop storage on the Blue Jacket keeps the ends of your straps secure and out of the way.

On the front of the Blue Jacket is the enormous clam shell pocket that Astral PFDs have become so well known for. This pocket opens as a shelf and has huge amounts of internal storage so you can find your stuff easily, even in rough conditions.

For river paddlers, a quick release belt can be fitted to turn this into a lightweight rescue PFD.
