Stohlquist Ebb is one of the company’s most popular PFDs and is billed as an economic alternative to the Trekker. The Ebb has been steadfast among the range, but has been updated with the graded sizing to give you the best fit possible.
Unlike some other Stohlquist PFDs, the Ebb doesn’t have an enormous footprint, instead focusing on keeping the flotation slightly lower on the body, giving your arms as much freedom as possible. This stops you from catching your arms as you paddle, which can be irritating or, in worse situations, cause some nasty chafing.
The pockets on the Ebb have been fitted with popper closures. While these perhaps aren’t quite as secure or durable as zips, they do have the advantage of being far quicker and easier to access. They can also be opened and closed one handed, easily.
The high back design on the Ebb is intended to optimise ventilation and breathability, while also increasing movement. This design also means that for those who paddle with high backed seats, there’s no PFD back pushing you off the seat.
