The Ventura 11.5 is 11’6” (350 cm) long, most of which is helping you track through the water. At 31.5” (80 cm) wide, this is a stable platform of a kayak which can handle rough conditions.

Weighing in at 62 lbs (28 kg), this is not a boat you’ll want to move too far on your own. It’s best to get a second set of hands to load and unload it from a vehicle.

The capacity of the Ventura 11.5 is 125 – 275 lbs (57 – 125 kg), making it perfect for a wide range of paddlers.

Features

The Ventura 11.5 is designed to be an all round recreational kayak with some progressive possibilities, perfect for long day trips. With this in mind, Liquidlogic have focused on the functional aspects of the kayak, keeping outfitting minimal, yet comfortable and supportive.

The padded seat and supportive, high back rest mean you can stay in the Ventura all day, while moulded plastic footwells give you a variety of paddling positions to keep you upright.

A large hatch at the front, sealed with a watertight cover, gives you space to store any kit you want to take with you on the water, while a small day hatch nearer the paddler is perfect for phones or cameras, small items you want to keep dry but have access to on the water.

Bungee at the front and rear give even more storage, and the large recess behind the paddler is a stable place for bags or buckets on the water.

At the bow and stern are molded carrying handles, again focusing on robust functionality rather than comfort. You’re unlikely to use these to carry the boat too far, but they do the job. There are also side carrying handles next to the seat which are designed similarly.

Scupper holes in the footwells drain any water you may take on as you crash through waves.

Performance

The Ventura 11.5 may be a recreational boat, but it comes with the pedigree of a much more progressive kayak. The wide profile and defined chines make it stable and easy to paddle even in rougher conditions.

In ocean swell the bow rocker allows you to stay dry and high out of the water while paddling over breaking waves and in the wind. On the river, this rocker makes it easy to maneuver around the twists and turns of slow moving water as you meander downstream.

It’s a stable, relaxed boat which you can chill out on with a cooler full of drinks in the rear, but thanks to the elongated hull design and long keel it is equally capable of covering long distances and is a great boat for big days out on open water.
