Size and Weight

Ascend D10 sit-in kayaks are perfect for those who want a lightweight, easy-to-transport kayak that doesn’t sacrifice features. This compact model measures 9” 10” (299.7 cm) in length and is 29″ (73.7 cm) wide, while its cockpit opening is 68” (172 cm) x 23” (58 cm).

It weighs a mere 50 lbs (22kg), which makes it easy for one person to handle, unlike heavier models that would require two. The overall dimensions of this kayak make it among the easiest to handle and load on a car without sacrificing performance.

Capacity

For a kayak of this size, the Ascend D10 can handle weights up to an impressive 300 lbs (136kg). There are storage options along each side of the boat, plus front and rear D-rings with tie-downs.

With its large open cockpit, the boat offers plenty of space for cargo management and easy access when getting on or off. The sleek design also means minimal restrictions while out on the water.

Features

Ascend D10 might look like a simple kayak, but it holds various features more often seen in pricier models.

The Ascend D10 features an advanced tunnel hull design that makes it stable and easier to paddle. Thanks to its advanced hull, this kayak is one of the steadiest in the market, so you can enjoy your day without the fear of capsizing.

With two sturdy front and back rubber-lined handles, this kayak is easily managed on land while launching or beaching up.

The generous coverage of bungee cords on top of the bow allows you to bring even more of your stuff once you’ve used up the large storage compartment behind the seat.

Towards the front of the cockpit, there are two small storage compartments to conveniently stash some of your small knick knacks like bait or tackle. There’s also a deep-molded cup holder to hold your favorite beverage as well!

There are grooves in the coaming that function as paddle holders for you to set your paddle down for a quick rest without having it roll forward.

There are also two more paddle holders with bungee cords on the left and right sides of the kayak for you to secure your paddle if you plan to fish on either side.

Adjustable foot braces give maximum flexibility for kayakers of all sizes. The seats are padded and adjustable for your comfort.

The cool thing about the seat is that it can be removed and used on land. When you beach up, you can remove the seat and take it to your campsite or picnic area! In addition, every seam on the seat is double-stitched for maximum durability.

Behind the seat is a canvas-covered storage compartment for you to stash your gear. With the generous capacity of storing a 36-quart cooler box, there’s plenty of room for your stuff.

Towards the very back, the fin protrudes low into the water which gives the kayak excellent tracking, and there are grooves on the hull that are designed to increase stability.

Performance

The Ascend D10 kayak has been praised for its stability, tracking abilities, and versatility. In addition, the D10 is one of the lighter kayaks around which makes it easy to handle on and off the water.

The Ascend D10 is also designed to be easily paddled, even for beginners. It is quite surprising that the reasonable price tag and features don’t affect the performance of Ascend D10.

You will be pleasantly surprised with how well this kayak maneuvers, even with tight turns. The seat is comfortable and provides good back support, even during longer paddles.

The Ascend D10 kayak is a great choice for casual paddlers and anglers looking for a boat that is both comfortable and easy to handle.
