NRS Odyssey is a fully decked out sea kayaking PFD. If you’re heading out for a day of sea kayaking or touring in a more technical kayak with lower profile outfitting, a full back PFD with less bulk on the front is what you need.
Even with the full backed design, the Odyssey gives you an enormous range of motion. On long days on the water, anything which does not let you move freely is going to become enormously irritating, grinding on you slowly over the course of a day. With the Odyssey, you’ll hardly notice you’re wearing a PFD thanks to the well designed cut.
Similar to NRS cVest, the Odyssey has loads of pocket space on the front, with two large side pockets as well as two front pockets with dual entry, suited to VHF radios. The Odyssey also retains all the safety features of the cVest, with the reflective flashes, the multiple D-rings, and the knife leash points.
As with many of the NRS PFDs, the Odyssey has strap garages for the shoulder straps. The wind out on the sea can be wild, and can whip loose straps into your face. A whole day of this will become quickly infuriating, and these garages prevent this from ever being an issue.
