A great tent to host camping trips and retreats with your family and friends. With a floor size of 12′ x 7′ ( 365.76 cm x 213.36 cm), it offers an interior of 84 ft² to pack in the family.

This is a one room dome tent with a peak clearance of 72″ (21.95 m) and has plenty of headspace, and those under 6′ tall will have enough leeway to stand if not using the storage loft.

Storage options include six mesh pockets and a mesh gear loft.

The Wenzel Tamarack Dome Tent is a family friendly, versatile, multi-functional camping tent. This tent is comfortable and spacious enough for a maximum of six people in sleeping bags. Those with a smaller family could opt for this tent also for more storage space with the ease of smaller versions.

Breathability and Ventilation

The Tamarak’s ventilation is fantastic as the top 1/3 of the tent is made of bug free mesh windows on three sides. The D-shaped front door holds a zip-down window for added air movement. This not only allows the breeze to flow through without impediment, but what’s more, it gives access to 360-degree views of your surroundings and, at night, the stars. Hi-low air circulation is provided by a guy out floor vent located at the back of the tent. This vent can be opened and closed from the inside. This can be useful if you get chilly during the night. This floor vent is covered by bug free mesh so that no visiting critters can crawl inside.

A unique feature of this tent is that it has a rain fly with the ability to open and roll back to help you get a good night’s sleep in the great outdoors because you never know when bad weather will surprise you. If feeling the wind blow and sleeping under the stars is your wish, you will not be disappointed.

Weather Resistance

The Wenzel Tamarack 6-Person Dome Tent is a three-season tent designed to be used in mild and moderate weather conditions. The tent has a 6-person capacity and includes a single door entry system.

It is made of 600mm polyester taffeta treated with a waterproof coating to produce an effective water resistant fabric, which provides excellent protection against wind and rain. The difference between budget tents and the best-quality tents is the waterproof finish.

The foundation or floor is made of durable welded polyethylene and nylon. A mud mat folds out at the front door to keep the floor clean while muddy shoes stay outside. There is a small awning created by attaching the rainfly.

Every element of this tent is protected from water damage by the Weather Guard water-resistant sealant. You can dream of the lake and rain without actually sleeping in it.

Durability

The Wenzel Tamarack 6-person tent was designed for families to use for many years to come. The tent poles are shock corded for easy assembly and are made of fiberglass. Fiberglass poles can be more than adequate if you are an occasional or summer camper that only camps a few times a year.

The difference between fiberglass and aluminum poles is that aluminum is more durable than fiberglass and will last longer. Nylon is stronger than polyester, but affordable tents are usually made out of polyester for budget reasons.

Polyester is cheaper and protects from the sun’s UV rays, so you do not get sunburned, and your tent is less likely to fade. Moreover, it is heavier than nylon. The 68D Polyester Taffeta fabric is designed to protect you against water damage and provide UV protection for the longevity of your tent.

The tent floor is made of welded polyethylene for protection against rocks, sticks, and other ground materials. The exterior and rainfly material give it a rugged, well-built outdoor look and feel. The rainfly is constructed of a water-repellent polyester taffeta material that will repel moisture while allowing airflow.

Ease of Use

With the comfort of a dome tent and the ease of setup and take down, the Wenzel Tamarack 6-Person Dome Tent is a lightweight, versatile shelter for camping, day trips, and extended stays. This Tamarack tent is easy to assemble. The poles snap together and can be assembled in minutes. This tent comes with two fiberglass poles that cross each other at the top and are secured with pole pockets and a pin and ring system. A rubber mallet or a hammer is needed to stake down the floor in all four corners for security. This tent is designed with an external frame, which helps to keep the tent standing up and stable even after windy conditions. It is straightforward to set up and take down. It is a spacious tent that folds down easily into a compact size. The tent is also very easy to carry. It is ideal for people who want to camp in the woods.
