If that wasn’t enough, the Hooligan also uses Coleman’s WeatherTec system to help keep you dry at night. Its full-coverage rainfly and dome-style construction are also preferable for people who want to use this tent for more remote backcountry adventures.

We should note that the Hooligan is fairly hefty for a 2-person tent as it weighs in at around 8 lbs (3.6 kg). However, if you’re okay with a bit of extra weight in exchange for ample living space, it’s well worth considering this tent.

One thing to note is that the Skydome is fairly heavy for a 2-person tent with an 8.7 lbs (3.9 kg) packed weight. But it’s still packable enough for car-based trips.

Thanks to its 49 sq. ft (4.6 sq. m) internal floor plan, the Sundome can accommodate up to 3 adults at night. However, it works even better as a 2 person tent for campers who also want to stash their gear inside their shelter at night.

As an added bonus, the Sundome comes with a 4’4” (132 cm) center height and a full mesh canopy overhead for breathability. Nevertheless, this tent doesn’t have a vestibule or a screen porch—though it has a small awning over the door. So, this is something to consider if gear storage is a concern.

Like with most other Coleman tents, the Sundome uses WeatherTec technology. This technology provides the shelter with bathtub-style floors and inverted seams to help keep water at bay.

Note that the 3-Person Sundome is fairly heavy at 8.7 lbs (3.9 kg) and it can take up to 15 minutes to pitch. However, if car camping is more your style, this tent is a comfortable choice for 3-season adventures.

Despite this drawback, the 4-Person Skydome does come with a quick pitch system and pre-attached poles that cut your set-up time down to about 5 minutes.

This 3-season shelter boasts some of the best floor space in its class with a total of 99 sq. ft (9.2 sq. m) of sleeping space, plus a 4’11” (150 cm) center height. Although some of the tent’s floor space is set aside for the screen room, it’s still roomy enough to accommodate four campers and their gear.

In particular, campers should take note of the Carlsbad’s screen room. It’s rare to find a budget-friendly 4-person tent with a screen room, so this model is worth considering for anyone that wants some outdoor living space during their adventures.

Moreover, the Carlsbad is a top contender when breathability is a priority. In addition to its full mesh canopy, this tent comes with two side mesh windows. If that wasn’t enough, it also comes with Dark Room technology, which cuts up to 90% of sunlight to keep you cool in sunny climates.

At the end of the day, the Carlsbad is a solid tent. Though we can’t overlook its limited functionality in rainy conditions or the fact that it’s not made to hold up in high winds. But for trips when nice weather is in the forecast, it’s a solid option.

Starting first with its internal dimensions, the OneSource features 62 sq. ft (5.9 sq. m) of living space, which is on par with other tents of its size. It also has a 4’11” (150 cm) peak height, which is also high enough for people to comfortably sit upright at night.

Where the OneSource really steals the spotlight is with its built-in LED lighting system. This system allows you to illuminate your tent with the push of a button and it’s powerful enough to charge your devices via USB. 

Oh, and this OneSource technology also powers an airflow system thanks to its built-in overhead fan. On hot evenings, you can turn on the airflow system to start the fan and provide much-needed ventilation while you snooze.

As is expected from a tent with this many features, the OneSource is fairly heavy and bulky. However, at 14.3 lbs (6.5 kg), most people will find that it’s still packable enough to take along on a car-based excursion.

While the floor plan is a little small for a 6-person tent, its high, mostly flat ceiling and near-vertical walls provide plenty of headroom and make the shelter feel much more spacious.

Some things to note with the 6-Person Skylodge include the fact that it doesn’t have a vestibule or a screen porch. But to make up for these shortcomings, Coleman gave the Skylodge a set of large mesh windows and built-in vents for improved breathability. The rainfly also has fully-taped seams and the tent comes with WeatherTec technology.

The 6-Person Skylodge is designed solely for car camping, a reality reflected in its 28.7 lb (13 kg) weight. But if you want airflow and plenty of headroom in the backcountry, this is one tent that should be on your radar.

Another advantage of the Montana is its relatively light weight. While 17.1 lbs (7.7 kg) isn’t exactly ultralight, it’s certainly on the lighter end of the spectrum for a spacious 6-person tent.

When it comes to gear storage, the Skydome offers a slew of internal mesh pockets, though it doesn’t have a screen room or a vestibule. Despite this, it is one of the more breathable tents on the market, thanks to its full mesh ceiling and large windows.

To speed up the tent pitching process, the 12-Person Skydome also comes with pre-attached poles and a color-coded rainfly system. Plus, the tent is made with durable fabrics as well as the company’s WeatherTec system.

But keep in mind that the 12-Person Skydome is not made for use in severe weather. It’s also heavy and bulky, though it’s still portable enough for transport to and from the campground.
