The V-Eight was the world’s first really breathable life jacket and is a long established bestseller for Astral. The high back design keeps the bulk out of the way when you’re sitting in a high backed seat, and the mesh back will keep your back cool as you paddle or fish. By relocating the rear foam up high, the front panel can remain slim fitting and lightweight, giving you maximum movement no matter what you’re doing.
Oh, and that front panel? That’s just about the most breathable front panel you’ll find on a full PFD. Astral’s Airescape technology and mesh backed foam lets trapped heat escape, so you can stay cool even when you’re working hard on the water. If you want the most breathable piece of floatation on the market, without going waist mounted, then the V-Eight is about as good as they come.
There are also two low-profile pockets, accessed from the side, which give you storage without being overly cumbersome.
