The OneTigris Northgaze Hot Tent is a 2 to 4-person windproof, fire retardant tipi tent with a stove jack, perfect for 4-season camping.
While most tents will hold up well for backpacking trips in the summer and the fall, winter is a whole different ball game. You might not want to camp in freezing temperatures, and even more so when the winds blast through.
That’s where tents with stove jacks come in. A hot tent is usually a heavy-duty canvas or cotton tent that comes with a stove jack or two placed on the roof or by the side. This allows you to install a wood stove, and stay nice and toasty in the winter.
If you are in the market for a good winter tent, we’ve done the heavy lifting for you! Here are some of our favorites!

Best Tents With Stove Jacks Reviews
Best Overall: White Duck Regatta Canvas Bell Tent
Weight: 50 lbs / 23.04 kg
Packed size: 46″ x 15″ x 15″ / 117 cm x 38 cm x 38 cm
Floor size: 197″ x 197″ / 500 cm x 500 cm
Peak height: 118″ / 300 cm
Rooms: 1
Shape: Bell
Occupancy: 6

The White Duck Regatta Canvas Bell Tent comes in four different sizes that can comfortably host between two to eight people depending on which you buy. The smallest size measures 8 feet / 2.5 meters while the largest size measures 16.5 feet / 5 meters.
The walls stand at 2′ 7″ / 78.74 cm which is higher than other bell tents and allows for more shoulder room. This tent also has a compatible awning which can be purchased separately so you can have a porch living area.
We love the galvanized steel poles that this tent uses for the center and door poles, but dislike the fact that the door pole is placed in the middle of the entrance.
Most other tents have A-frame poles that stay out of the way and allow you to move bulky items in and out easily, but this door pole runs top to bottom in the middle of the door, effectively cutting the size of the entrance by half.
The durability of the Regatta is incredible and the high-quality DYNADUCK fabric will keep the interior bone-dry, even in heavy rains.
Best For Backpacking: OneTigris Rock Fortress Hot Tent
Weight: 9.3 lbs / 4.2 kg
Packed size: 22.8″ x 7.8″ x 7.8″ / 58 x 20 x 20 cm
Floor size: 12′ 5″ / 3.8m
Peak height: 7′ 9″/ 2.4 m
Rooms: 1
Shape: Teepee
Occupancy: 4 to 6
Stove included: No
The OneTigris Hot Tent is a lightweight, backpacking tent that can fit 4 to 6 persons. It has an overall packed size of about 9.3 lbs / 4.2 kg, which makes it ideal for hiking in to your spot as opposed to most other canvas tents that you will need a vehicle for.
The tent is made of 70D coated nylon material, which makes it waterproof and allows it to hold steady in case of rain. It also contains snow skirts all around the base of the tent which helps to add extra support in case of snow.
Due to the lightweight material, it may however not be ideal for heavy snow or extremely low temperatures. The tent does however contain a stove jack which can be handy during such conditions.
The tent lacks windows but it does have 2 doors, both of which contain a mesh-covered vent at the top for extra ventilation.
The floor or bottom diameter of the tent is 12′ 5″ /3.8 m, while the center height is 7′ 9″ / 2.4 m. This height provides great headroom to move around and get dressed.
With camping gear and a stove jack, we however find that the tent may be better suited to hold 3 to 4 people. Also, this tent doesn’t have a floor or groundsheet, so if you want one, you’ll have to buy it separately.
Best For Budget Campers: OneTigris TEGIMEN Hammock Hot Tent
Weight: 6.8 Ibs / 3.1 kg
Packed size: 46″ x 15″ x 15″ / 117 cm x 38 cm x 38 cm
Floor size: 12.5′ x 6.6′ x 6.2′ / 380 cm x 200 cm x 190 cm
Peak height: 6.2′ / 190 cm
Rooms: 1
Shape: Cabin
Occupancy: 2 to 3
Stove included: No
This is the only hammock tent on the list! This is a hammock tent that can be hung on two sturdy trees but it still would be better if you pegged the corners and sides down to help the tent retain its shape.
This spacious wall tent measures 12.5 ft x 6.6 ft x 6.2 ft / 380 cm x 200 cm x 190 cm and comes with two stove jacks to fit any angle of your pipe.
Sleeping in a hammock has many advantages during winter, as you are suspended above the ground and will not lose heat. This lightweight tent weighs only 6.8 lbs / 3.1 kg and is made of 70D ripstop nylon with a 3,000 mm waterproof rating, keeping the interior bone-dry even during heavy rains.
This unique tent doesn’t have a groundsheet, so if the ground is soaked with water, you might get water in the tent. Priced at $199, it is one of the cheapest options for a tent with a stove jack that you can use during winter.
You might not want to live in this tent long-term, but if you are heading out with some buddies for a cold-weather camping trip, this tent is an affordable, lightweight tent that is incredibly easy to set up.
Best All Rounder: PlayDo Cotton Canvas Bell Tent
Weight: 42.4 lb / 19.25 kg
Packed size: 45″ x 14″ x 14″ / 114 cm x 36 cm x 36 cm
Floor size: 197″ x 197″ / 500 cm x 500 cm
Peak height: 118″ / 300 cm
Rooms: 1
Shape: Bell
Occupancy: 2 to 10
Stove included: No
The PlayDo Cotton Canvas Bell Tent comes in five different sizes so you’ll find something for many group sizes. The smallest measures 9.8 feet / 3 m in diameter while the largest size measures 23 feet / 7 m.
It is a relatively heavy tent. The smallest size weighs 42.4 lb / 19.25 kg while the largest weighs 132.3 lb / 60 kg, which means you’ll probably need a hand to get it set up. With a peak height of 8.2 ft / 250 cm for the smallest and 13.1 ft / 400 cm, almost everyone will be able to stand upright without stooping.
Four mesh-covered windows and four vents on the roof allow for plenty of ventilation, although the roof vents are mounted near the top so you might need to stand on something to reach them.
This luxurious tent is made of 300 gsm cotton fabric and the floor is ripstop PVC, which offers excellent durability. It holds up remarkably well in bad weather and is not known to spring any leaks, even in torrential rains.
Unlike some other bell tents where the stove jack is on the top, this tent’s stove jack is on the side, which means your wood stove will have to be kept there. While having the wood stove on the side keeps it out of the way, it also means that the tent will be heated unevenly.

It also comes with a handy setup tool kit complete with pegs, pins, buckles, and UV-reflective guy ropes.

Rooms: 1
Shape: Cabin
Occupancy: 6 to 10
Stove included: No
The Kodiak 6170 is an 8-person lodge-style cabin tent that offers plenty of living space. The generous 7.5 ft / 2.3 m interior peak height and 4 ft / 1.21 m vertical walls ensure that most of the tent’s occupants can stand upright, as well as have plenty of shoulder room and space to move around.
The tent has six large mesh-covered windows that offer plenty of ventilation yet still keep the bugs out.
The trademark Hydra-Shield and 100% cotton duck canvas shell ensure the tent is completely waterproof and can hold during rainy and snowy weather.
In addition, the tent poles are galvanized one-inch steel tubes whose durability and strength will keep the tent steady even during powerful winds. The 5″ stove jack allows for a wood stove for more comfort in cold weather.
The size of this tent offers plenty of room, but as a result, it is rather heavy. It weighs in at 97 lbs / 44 kg, for which you will need a vehicle to haul it around.
Due to the size of this tent, it may require two people to pitch. The initial setup may take about 30 minutes to set up and 15 minutes to take down. However, this is guaranteed to get easier with practice.

The tent has a center height of 2.5 m /8.5 ft with the walls standing at 1.96 ft / 0.6 m. The top of the tent slopes down towards the sides, sacrificing some shoulder and headroom.
The tent also has a double layer (mesh and canvas) A-frame door which is 5.1 ft / 1.55 m in height, which means you’ll have to stoop to enter.
There are four mesh windows in this tent as well as four vents at the top for extra ventilation. One of the special features that the tent has is that you can pull up and fold the sidewalls during summer, giving you a 360-degree view of your surroundings as well as allowing the wind to go right through the tent.
The tent is made up of canvas khaki fabric which is waterproof and will keep you dry during rainy weather and light snow.
There are plenty of options available, from a 2-person to an 8-person tent, costing an affordable $499 to $799.

Peak height: 7’6″ / 220 cm
Rooms: 1
Shape: Cabin
Occupancy: 4 to 18 people

The White Duck Alpha comes in six different sizes which can fit anything between 4 to 18 people. This is a canvas wall tent, which offers plenty more shoulder and headroom compared to bell tents where you often have to stoop around the sides.
The walls are 5 ft / 152 cm, which means you can stand upright almost anywhere in the tent aside from the very sides.
There are four identical windows on the smaller sizes and six on the larger sizes which provides plenty of ventilation. These windows are storm windows, so you can keep the windows open even in heavy rains.
The smallest size has a peak height of 7 feet 6 inches / 2.28 m while the largest size is 16 feet x 24 feet / 487 x 731 cm, which means most people will be able to stand up comfortably and move around without crouching.
This tent is completely waterproof and has a high UV-resistant rating. With a PFC-free finish that protects against water and mold, the 100% cotton canvas will last for many years.

Yurtent Roomy Bell Tent
Weight: 61 lbs / 28 kg
Packed size: 37.8″ x 11.81″ x 11.81″ / 93 x 28 cm
Floor size: 13.1′ / 399 cm
Peak height: 8.2′ / 250 cm
Rooms: 1
Shape: Bell
Occupancy: 2 to 8
Stove included: No
The Yurtent Roomy Bell tent comes in two different sizes: 13.1 ft / 4 meters in diameter and 16.4 ft / 5 meters. The smaller size can fit a queen bed and two air mattresses and the largest size can fit eight single mattresses but it will be cramped!
For maximum comfort, there should be two people in the smaller size and four for the larger one. The generous door width measures 6.56 ft / 2m, which gives you plenty of room to move gear and equipment.
The cool thing about the Yurtent is that the sidewalls can be rolled up in good weather, and now the tent is just a canopy! The breeze will go right through the tent and you’ll have 360-degree scenery all around.
This tent is made of 100% fire retardant cotton canvas that stays waterproof in rain. However, what we didn’t like was that the poles are made of fiberglass.
Fiberglass poles tend to be more fragile than aluminum or steel, and most heavy-duty tents require steel poles. In addition, the stakes that this tent comes with seemed a little flimsy, so you might need to purchase extra heavy-duty stakes separately.
KingCamp Khan Glamping Tent
Weight: 97 lbs / 44.45 kg
Packed size: 37″ x 19″ x 15″ / 93 x 48 x 38 cm

Peak height: 13′ / 396 cm
Rooms: 1

The smaller one weighs 74lb / 33.57 kg and the larger 97 lb / 44.45 kg. There are open mesh vents on the roof for ventilation.
In addition, like many bell tents, the sidewalls can be folded up in good weather to enjoy the view and improve airflow.
It is made up of polyurethane-coated poly-cotton material, a blend that is excellent for both waterproofing properties as well as breathability.
The tent contains two 7-inch stove jacks which are made of fire-resistant materials. These provide ample room for stoves of any size, and the groundsheet is waterproof and fire-resistant.
If you are using a wood stove, you might still want to get a separate stove mat, or remove the detachable section in the groundsheet and place your stove there.
MC Canvas Bell Tent
Weight: 40.8 lbs / 18.5 kg
Packed size: 31.7″ x 11.8″ x 10.5″ / 80.5 x 30 x 26.7 cm
Floor size: 10′ / 304 сm
Peak height: 6.6′ / 201 cm
Rooms: 1
Shape: Bell
Occupancy: 2 to 5
Stove included: No
The MC Canvas bell tent comes in two different sizes which can fit between 2 to 5 people. The smaller tent is best for two to three people while the larger size can fit up to five.
This tent has plenty of floor space and shoulder space but you may need to stoop around the sides, unlike wall tents where you can walk as you please.
The sidewalls have a height of 1.9 ft / 58 cm This means you can only comfortably stand upright in the center of the tent and will have to stoop if you stand near the wall.
Each tent has 4 mesh-lined windows and 4 roof vents for ventilation. The windows on the sidewalls are quite low so you may have to make sure nothing is blocking them so your tent stays well ventilated.
The smaller size tent has a peak height of 6.6 ft / 201.2 cm while the larger size tent has a peak height of 8.2 ft / 250 cm.
The big drawback of this bell tent is that it doesn’t have a PU coating on the canvas and will not be completely waterproof. You will have to treat the tent with additional waterproofing if you intend to use it in an area with heavy rains.
The flooring is special as it is thick and made of 540gsm PVC with PU 20,000mm+, making the groundsheet reliably waterproof but the tent remains vulnerable to the wet.
The smaller tent is $365.81 and the larger is $499.00, which makes it comparatively affordable compared to some other tents that cost well into the thousands.
OneTigris Northgaze Hot Tent
Weight: 15.8 lbs / 7.2 kg
Packed size: 22.8″ x 7.8″ x 7.8″ / 58 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm
Floor size: 12.5 ft / 381 cm
Peak height: 6.7 ft / 205cm
Rooms: 1
Shape: Teepee
Occupancy: 2 to 4
Stove included: No
The OneTigris Northgaze Hot tent comes in one size which can accommodate 2 to 4 people. It comes in two colors, Coyote Brown and OD Green.
This Hot tent has a pyramid or tipi shape and not much shoulder space to it so it is not possible to stand up and roam around within the tent due to there being no sidewalls.
The peak or center height is 6.7 ft / 205 cm and it has a floor length of 150″ / 381 cm / 12.5 ft, enough to fit 2 to 4 sleeping bags at a time.
As it is a hot tent with no sidewalls, there are no windows to this tent, just a stove jack opening and two vents on the peak of the tent. However, we found that the smaller living space meant that this tent is easier to heat in the winter.
This tent is much thicker and heavier than other common tents and is made of durable, rugged “Tetoron” cotton fabric made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The fabric is unique and meant to keep the inside of the tent as hot as possible, making it perfect for winter camping.
The fabric is fire retardant and safe to be used near campfires. Its sloped roof prevents water from accumulating on it and the sides of the tent have a snow skirt.
The entrance of the tent unzips fully to become a porch roof and has webbing along it to hang kitchen items. This is an affordable hot tent that can often be found at less than $300.

Why You Need A Stove Jack
If you’ve ever tried to heat your tent with a campfire or cooking stove, you know it’s not an ideal solution. Not only is it smoky and unpleasant, but it can also be dangerous. A stove is a much better option for heating your tent.
It provides a consistent and controllable source of heat, and it doesn’t produce any smoke. In addition, a wood stove is more efficient than a campfire, meaning it will use less fuel and generate less waste.
Whether you’re looking for a cozy place to sleep on a cold night or simply want to dry out your gear, a stove is the best way to go and for that, you’ll need a stove jack.
Buying Guide – Tent With A Stove Jack
If you don’t find something on this list you like, you might want to try looking for a tent on your own. Here are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for a sturdy tent for frosty winter camping.
Size
Most tents are available in multiple sizes, so depending on how many people the tent is intended for and how much gear you have, pick your size carefully. While bigger tents allow for way more room, they are generally more expensive and heavier, which might make them harder to set up for one person.
The capacity stated on the tent might not be accurate, so pay more attention to the dimensions instead of the number of people the manufacturer states.
Stove Jack
Depending on what type of wood stove piping you have, be sure that the tent’s stove jack can accommodate your wood stove. Some tents have two stove jacks that allow different piping angles but most tents only have one either on the roof or on the sidewall.
Ensure that the tent has an appropriately sized and placed stove jack to fit your pipe’s angle and diameter.
Weatherproofing
With winter might come heavy rains and snow. While some tents are claimed to be waterproof, read the reviews carefully to make sure that the tent isn’t known to spring leaks. There’s nothing worse than a cold winter’s night with a leaky tent!
Also, heavy winds can bring a tent down real quick. Make sure that there are lines that can be staked down to keep the tent standing strong even during gale force winds.
Ease of Setup
Most of these tents can be set up by one person. You don’t want to be messing around for hours in the cold trying to get a tent set up.
Bell tents tend to be easier to set up compared to cabin-style tents. Also, check on the weight of the tent. Bigger tents will offer more room but they can also be way heavier and require you to have help.
Breathability and Heat Retention
You ideally want a tent that can be well-ventilated in the summer yet retain heat efficiently during winter.
Bell tents often have foldable side walls that can be rolled up so that the tent turns into a canopy. This would allow the breeze to go right through the tent and make for very pleasant camping in hot weather.
Also, make sure that the windows and doors have mesh coverings so that you can enjoy a fresh breeze in the hotter months yet remain bug-free inside.
Frame and Durability
Check on the materials used for the tent’s body as well as the materials used for the tent poles. Canvas and cotton are popular materials for heavy-duty winter tents, while lightweight polyester is a more common material for ultra-light backpacking tents.
While lightweight tents tend to use aluminum and fiberglass poles, heavyweight tents often used high-quality galvanized steel to keep the tent upright and sturdy.
Winter is a tough time of the year to go camping, and the last thing you want is for your tent to break or be damaged when the weather gets dicey.
Price
Last but not least, there’s always the price. While most of the time you pay for quality, it isn’t true that more expensive means better. You’ll have to find the right balance between a quality tent that doesn’t break the bank. A tent with the best value will have a moderate price point yet be of top quality.
Final Thoughts
We hope you find something on the list you like. Winter camping can be great fun with the right equipment, and if you have a wood stove, you can stay nice and cozy all year round!
